- Reading Comprehension
- Synonyms
- Antonyms
The SSAT contains five sections: reading (40 minutes), essay writing (25 minutes), a verbal section (30 minutes), and two math sections (30 minutes each).
- The Reading Comprehension section include seven short passages, including fiction excerpts and non-fiction passages on topics ranging from art to economics to science, and the 40 questions test a range of skills, including literal comprehension, narrative devices, and inference-based analyses.
- The Verbal section tests vocabulary, with 30 synonym questions and 30 antonym questions.
- The Writing Sample is an experimental section. You are asked to support an argument, but the results are not scored, do not affect the SSAT results, and are not included in the final report.
